Emily Bolt advocates passionately for her clients in cases under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act ("ERISA") and in other cases of insurance company and financial institution wrongdoing, including bad faith and financial abuse of the elderly.  Many of Emily's clients are disabled individuals who have been denied their benefits from insurance companies, and Emily vigorously pursues all available remedies throughout the insurance appeals process and litigation in federal court.  Emily brings her excellent legal writing skills to bear in every matter, and diligently gathers all the pertinent details of each client’s story.  She maintains close contact and communication with her clients every step of the way to guide them through the complexities of the legal process.

Emily received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor on the California Law Review, and as both Submissions Editor and Supervising Editor on the Berkeley Journal of International Law.  Emily graduated magna cum laude and with departmental honors from the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Sociology and French and English Literature.

Emily volunteers as a Supervising Attorney with the Workers’ Rights Clinic coordinate by Legal Aid at Work.  From 2011 through 2016, Emily served as Secretary of the Board for the Sustainable Economies Law Center.

Emily grew up in the Bay Area and is happy to be raising her three young children surrounded by rolling hills and buffeting the expanse of the Bay waters and beyond.  She is an avid reader who loves to travel, work out, and indulge in delicious food.  Emily maintains a meditation practice and enjoys conducting periodic seminars on mindfulness for reducing stress and burnout.
